How can I take a fake ghost picture?

Posted: December 27th, 2009 | Filed under: Photography | 4 Comments »

Just looking for ideas.
Me and a friends are planning on playing a little trick on our friend who’s sort of scared of ghosts, to get her back for a trick she played on us.
We don’t have access t photoshop or anything like that right now, so what can we do?

Anything that wouldn’t be too obvious to her when she saw the picture would be perfect.

I’m trying to make an “album cover” with a picture of me. Any tips?

I want a new facebook profile pic, and so i decided it’d be fun to do something that looked really dramatic like the cover of a cd. Any tips?

I know how to use photoshop pretty well, so it’s not a matter of computer work, just more artistic look

i really need photography / photoshop help?

ok so i had a new flash that seemed great but for some reason or another the computer in the flash did not talk to the computer in the camera and i ended up with alot of really really under exposed photos, some over exposed photos and also some nicely exposed photos. I NEED to fix them as best as possible……..these photos are of a friends wedding and clearly i did it for super super cheap ($150) as im no professional wedding photographer (i only do rodeo and the occasional high school senior for fun) but they did not have another photographer so i really need to fix them so that i can give them some photos of their wedding. can anyone give me some tips or tricks on how to do this in photoshop?
ok so i clearly stated that i was no professional and have no interest in shoooting weddings or becoming a professional. The 150 covered my gas and hotel as the wedding was out of town and obviously i gave that back, these people needed a photographer for cheap because they just found out they were pregnant and he lost his job due to the economy so they were unable to pay the rest of the amount owed to the actual professional photographer they hired in the first place. My child does rodeo with a friend of theirs they saw my camera and asked me to do their wedding I told them I had never done it before they didnt care. So for those of you that actually helped and answered my question THANK YOU and for those of you that put me down, you might want to consider having some compassion and understanding when you answer questions or else dont answer them at all the people asking them are just looking for help not critizism

Is there a way to reduce the resolution (KBs) of a large number of photos all at once rather than individually

Posted: October 28th, 2009 | Filed under: Photography | 4 Comments »

I have my digital camera set to a higher resolution, but if I want to put a large number of photos online, I need to reduce their size. I know I can do it through MS Paint, but that’s only one at a time.

How can you turn a color photo to b&w and leave a portion of it the original color with Adobe Photoshop 6?

Posted: October 24th, 2009 | Filed under: Photography | 6 Comments »

I want to use Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 to work with a photo. I want the final production to be black and white, but a portion on the photo (the person’s tie) to be the original color in the color picture. Any tips?

Suggestions?: Teaching myself photography/editing?

Posted: October 21st, 2009 | Filed under: Photography | 3 Comments »

I am a stay at home mother with a 5 month old. I discovered love taking photos, editing them etc. I know more than the average person with a point and shoot through experience and looking on the internet when I need to know something … but I want to learn more.

What I have:

1. I have a basic Nikon D40 DSLR (two basic lenses – 1 Nikkor and 1 Sigma)

2. A mac desk top computer (excellent video card, RAM etc). I have iphoto and photoshop CS3 (haven’t worked with it). I just edit in iphoto – but for what I want to do with my photos it is photo shop too limiting/frustrating … thus, photoshop.

Can anyone suggest some good resources to consult for?:
- DSLR basics (ISO, Aperture etc…)
- Photo editing (photoshop, lightroom etc).

or…anything you find useful.

A photographer friend suggested “Understanding Exposure” – which I have and is great … but just looking for more.

Thanks!
Yeah…I have heard of Lightroom … I was debating between that and Aperture … going to go with Aperture at the moment.
