So, I spent the last five hours working on a digital painting/coloring skin and hair tutorial when I went to save the PSD and the whole thing decided to freeze.

I clicked around a bit, and then the whole page started flickering. Like, the blue at the top flickering between light and dark blue, and the cursor flickering between the hour glass and arrow.

I can click out of the program, and everything else is running fine. I can click back into the program, and it’s still flickering. Also, the place where the picture’s were is full of the screen behind it. I tried to take a screeny to explain, but it won’t print screen.

It’s been doing this for ten minutes.

My work wasn’t saved. Is there anyway I can close photoshop and still save my picture? Is there any way at all that I can save the image?

I was really, really pleased with it. It was one of my best works, and I’m really gutted that I’m loosing it =[

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
EDIT: The thing is, the program hasn’t closed yet. Is there any way I can fix it before it closes and I loose the work?

There’s myspace accounts where everything is on blog links and they provide layouts & etc. for the public and you can normally identify them by there default photo, like these:

I am new to dreamweaver and xhtml/css as well. But, I have been doing alot of reading and tutorials. I like the set up of this site www.theswankypup.com. How do I add my own background or image as a background? (tile the image) my background image is a brown jpeg with a design. Then how do I center the layout so I can have my text in the middle? Similar to the bluish part on that site. But mines will be a pink color. I know I will need a header and is that a three column site? I would prefer to have my main menu to the left side(home,about,services,etc….) and in the header part similar to that site, I would like faq,portfolio,resources menu links. So I would need a header two columns, footer….correct?

I haven’t found a tutorial yet on how to set my background as an image and then center the information layout part.

I would like to first get my layout & background straight before I start adding text. The designing part of how my site will look.

Can someone share a step by step tutorial with me on how to do this.

Or should I try and create the background design layout in photoshop and then try to slice it or whatever?

Is it easier to design it in photoshop or do it in dreamweaver?

for the student version, it says something about not working with full versions. so does that mean that if i started an image in the student version, but then wanted to continue it on the full version at uni, i wouldn’t be able to load it?

for the Elements one, i know it has fewer features, but does this include things like brushes and colour-altering options like curves, swatches etc.? i like to do digital painting, and i study illustration, so i was wondering if Elements would be suitable for artwork in that area?

I have to recreate a painting or photograph (probably black and white) by taking a picture and incorporating myself into art. I can use Photoshop and such to alter my photograph into something more artsy. However, I am having a hard time finding the right art because a) the painting/photograph has to be famous (so not something off of photobucket or flickr) and b) I’m asian and I can’t find a good painting/photo of an asian girl. Anyways, please help me out! If you have ANY ideas of a painting/photo with an asian girl that I can recreate, please tell me!!!

P.S. – The art can’t be too complicated either because I have limited resources (my camera, makeup, some paint, photoshop, some costumes). This is also a one person assignment so there can only be ONE girl in the painting.
Wait, you’re saying I should go on google and look up asian gothic?

I would like to take a person out of a picture and put that person in their own frame without a background using photoshop. Can someone explain how or share a tutorial?

When I say no background I mean… Only that person.. there is no white background, it’s clear.

Hi, I’m getting a wide-lens camera and know that there’ll be quite some barrel distortion on it (in my opinion). What’s the best program to counter barrel distortion? Preferably something that doesn’t take a lot of computer resources, because the computer that I’ll be doing the changes with will be very very old and slow. And possibly free to download from the web? I know that Photoshop has the ability, but is there something out there that can possibly make the correction very easy? Possibly even automatically? Thanks a ton.

Im usually pretty good at progams, but i am having dificulities with photoshop.

How can I change the background in a photo? I figured out how to erase the background out of the photo, but I can’t figure out how to add a different picture to the background. I know there is a way, I just can’t figure it out.
If you know how, please give a step by step on how to. I’m not framilar with getting my way around photoshop, so if theres a button I need to click or a tab to find it under, please specify where at.

I have my digital camera set to a higher resolution, but if I want to put a large number of photos online, I need to reduce their size. I know I can do it through MS Paint, but that’s only one at a time.
